"Oz, The Great and Terrible"/Zelena - Once Upon a Time Season Three (2013)

After being supposedly melted and destroyed by Dorothy Gale, Zelena impersonated "the Wizard" in order to rid Oz of her nemesis and set about using whatever means necessary to change her past and get revenge on Regina for growing up with everything that she never had.

She mimicked his voice and mannerisms perfectly, using the machine that Walsh (the conman claiming to be the Wizard) used to deceive many of the citizens of Oz.

Due to how thorough her deception was, not even the Good Witch of the South was aware that the Wicked Witch of the West was manipulating her, believing that her spell over the Wizard was broken, and reverting him back to human form after being transformed into a flying monkey by Zelena.

"Kansas"

Glinda accompanied Dorothy to the Emerald City, in hopes that she can help the young girl to return to Kansas. Encouraging her to speak to with the Wizard, "Oz" introduced himself to Dorothy, telling her that he was wanting to help her in an act of gratitude for saving him from the Witch's magic spell. Presenting her with a pair of silver slippers, he instructed her to think of her home and click her heels together three times, stating that these slippers would allow her to cross realms and return her to Kansas.

Wishing her the best of luck, he watches her go, waiting until being asked by Glinda to reveal himself to her. Calling it a "pleasure" Zelana unveiled her ruse, opening the curtain and declaring that she was victorious.

To ensure that Glinda could not find anyone else to put an end to her plans, the Wicked Witch of the West banished her to the Enchanted Forest, leaving Oz without the Good Witch of the South and Oz the Great and Terrible.

Many Years Ago in the realm of Oz.

Zelena stands on the centre of the Wizard's former throne room, staring at a scene of Rumplestiltskin and Regina practising magic in the Enchanted Forest. She looks disgusted as she sees the trouble that her half-sister is having conjuring a fire ball.

Zelena: Really. It's not that difficult.

Zelena lifts her hand and glares at her palm, producing a fireball that flickers menacingly. After several seconds, she blows it out. A screech comes off screen and the camera turns to Walsh's poster of the travelling circus he was apart of before being whisked away to Oz. The original flying monkey - who had formerly been Walsh - flies into shot and hovers close by, making more chattering noises.

Zelena: Quiet. I can't concentrate with all the screeching.

    Glinda: It's probably me.

Cut to the door of the chamber where a young blond woman enters, dressed in a long white dress with fur on the lapels and cuffs, She is wearing a necklace with a clear crystal pendant.

Glinda: He was never much of a fan.

Zelena takes in the newcomer suspiciously, watching as she advances towards her. The flying monkey screeches in recognition.

    Zelena: Who are you?

Glinda: Glinda. The Good Witch of the South.

Zelena instintecly creates a third fireball, but Glinda holds up a gloved hand to stop her.

Glinda: You can relax. I am not here to fight you.

Glinda ascends the steps, lifting up her dress slightly so she does not step on the hem. Zelena is still wary of the Witch of the South as she walks past her, making her way towards the monkey.

Glinda: I am here to thank you. For showing Oz the true nature of the Wizard. And for standing up to him.

The monkey screeches and flaps his wings, hastily retreating from her. Glinda looks at him with a slight smile and gives the tiniest laugh. Zelena lowers her hand, however the fire ball is still lit.

Zelena: And you are glad I turned him into a monkey?

Glinda throws the monkey a quick glance before looking back to Zelena.

Glinda: A little time as your pet will do him good.

She begins to walk, never taking her eyes off the monkey as she berates the Wizard for his lies, putting emphasis on key words.

Glinda: He was a trickster. Offering people hope he could never deliver.

Zelena gives a small smile as she sees that she was not the only one to feel hurt, betrayed and conned after meeting him.

    Glinda: Your quite powerful Zelena.

Zelena composes herself, trying to look as deadpan as she could, brushing over the fact that she had not introduced her, yet the which knew of her name and deeds.

    Zelena: I know.

Glinda: But you are wasting it on these foolish pursuits.

Zelena looks at her coldly, the fireball now dissipated into nothingness.

Zelena: What do you know about what I want?

Glinda: You want to change your destiny. But you can't go back in time. No one can.

She pauses to see Zelena's stoic expression crack ever so slightly. Her voice never wavering in its tone of compassion and understanding (which sometimes bordered on condescending and patronising).

Glinda: Why don't you come with me?

Zelena: Why on Earth would I do that?

Glinda: Because I think I can offer you something that you're really looking for.

The Good Witch of the South moves closer to Zelena.

Glinda: There are some people that I want you to meet.

    Zelena: Who?

Glinda: Come meet your real sisters.

Later that same evening - in the Heart of Oz

The camera zooms out on a large crystal embedded in the centre of a table decorated to represent a compass. There are four chairs around the outside, marking the four points of North, East, South and West. The Emerald City can be seen in the distance through a small window at the far end of a corridor leading into the room.

The Witches of the North and East have taken their places. They are both wearing the same necklaces as Glinda.

Zelena and Glinda descend the stairs into the room. Zelena looks stunned.

    Zelena: What is this place?

    Glinda: The Heart of Oz.

Glinda walks in between the chairs of North and East, motioning to the pair of them.

Glinda: These are my sister witches. From the North and the East. Each represents a special part of magic. (She pats herself on the chest) Love. (She gestures to the Witch of the North) Wisdom. (Gesturing with her other hand to the Witch of the East) And courage. Together our abilities are far more powerful than they could ever be on their own. We can do things no one else can.

All three of the Witches eyes are on Zelena, who looks excited at the prospect. She smiles slightly.

    Zelena: Like travel through time?

Glinda's face falters ever so slightly.

Glinda: That's not why we brought you here.

Zelena turns her back on the Witches. Glinda moves around the table to join her.

Zelena: But you said you were going to help me. If you can't change my past then...

Glinda walks past Zelena to the empty chair of the West, interrupting the young witch mid statement.

Glinda: I brought you here to change your future. This seat has been empty for some time. We'd like you to fill it.

All the witches smile at Zelena, who looks taken aback by the offer. For a moment she looks to the others in silence and then back to Glinda.

Zelena: What does the West represent?

Glinda: The most illusive of elements.... Innocence.

The Witch of the North gives a smile.

Zelena: Well, then, I'm the last person you should consider. I mean, look at me: I'm Wicked

The Witch of the North's smile disappears, her eyes dropping slightly.

Glinda: But you don't have to be. Innocence reclaimed can be just as powerful as innocence born. You simply have to choose to be good.

    Zelena gives a slight scoff.

Zelena: That's easy for you to say. Good is part of your name.

Witch of the North: Glinda, aren't going to tell her?

Zelena: (Looking completely confused) Tell me what?

Glinda inhales deeply, letting out a long sigh. She stares at the floor.

Glinda: I didn't want to say anything unless I had to. I wanted to let you shape your own destiny.

Zelena: What could you possibly know about my destiny?

Glinda: Glinda is the keeper of the Book of Records.

Witch of the East: It chronicles the past, present and future of Oz.

Glinda: The book foretells of a powerful sorceress who will join our sisterhood as a protector of Oz.

Zelena: And you think that that's me?

Glinda: The book says the sorceress from the West will come to this land via cyclone.

Zelena looks shell-shocked by this revelation.

Zelena: I was brought here by cyclone.

The Witch of the North's smile returns.

Glinda: That's right. We've been looking for you for a long time, Zelena. You've always been meant for more. I know you don't think so, but you can do this. You just have to let go off your past.

Later: The Emerald City Throne Room

Zelena enters the throne room, using her magic to open a window into the Enchanted Forest. There she begins to seethe in anger and rage as she witnesses another training session between Regina and Rumplestiltskin.

However her breathing eases as she lets her hatred for the pair of them go, closing her eyes in silent mediation. She smiles and opens them again, tilting her head to the side.

Zelena: Sorry sis, but I'm over you.

With a wave of her hand, she banishes the portal away. She takes another deep breath, looking incredibly proud of herself.

A puff of grey white smoke twists behind her and Glinda steps out of the mist. Zelena is unaware of her presence in the room.

Glinda: That was lovely, Zelena. (She smiles widely at the young witch) I'm impressed. I knew you would make the right choice.

Glinda unfurls her gloved hand and reveals the fourth pendant of the Sisterhood. She steps forward, stroking the crystal, looking ecstatic.

    Zelena: What's this?

Glinda: A very special pendant. Each of the witches in the sisterhood wears one.

Glinda opens the clasp and moves it to Zelena's neck, fastening it around the back as she continues to speak.

Glinda: Guard it with your life, because in many ways it now is your life. You were born with great power, Zelena. And now, now this pendant will harness, protect and grow that power. All of it.

Glinda smiles as Zelena strokes the pendant.

Zelena: Will it make me stronger?

Glinda: More than you can possibly imagine. However the price is, without it, your powerless. But so long as you do continue to wear it, you'll be able to accomplish untold miracles.

    Zelena: Does this mean?

Glinda: You are one of us? Yes. Our sister

Zelena smiles at Glinda as she produces a mirror.

    Glinda: Take a look.

Zelena takes the hand mirror off Glinda, taking in her own reflection. Her eyes widen as her skin reverts back to what it had been before the envy had altered it green. She laughs in both relief and joy. She clutches the looking glass to her chest.

    Zelena: Oh, thank you.

Glinda: Don't thank me. Thank yourself. You did it all. You let go of your envy. You took control of your destiny.

Evening in the West of Oz

Glinda and Zelina are surveying her new region from the yellow brick rode, which stretches out to the distance, including mountains.

Zelena: All of this? For me?

Glinda: Yes, sister. The West. It's future and potential is as limitless as your own.

There is a sound of thunder rumbling in the distance. Both look around the dark sky in shock and surprise.

Glinda: What is that? It sounds like thunder.

In the distance a green twister descends from the sky, in which a small wooden object is being hurtled around the chromosphere.

    Zelena: It's not thunder. It's a cyclone.

Glinda: (Sounds horrified) There's something inside it.

In the middle of a Western wood.

The storm has completely died down. The woods are littered with the burning wreckage of a house. Zelena and Glinda make there way through the debris and smoke. They hear a cough in the distance. More coughing follows.

    Zelena: Over there!

A voice (Dorothy Gale) can be heard from the remnants of the house, continues.

Dorothy Gale: Help! I'm down here!

Glinda rushes forward, Zelena follows closely behind.

    Glinda: Someone's trapped.

Glinda begins to move things aide and offer her hand out, pulling a young girl through the window. The girl is wearing a blue and white gingham dress. She has long black hair. She looks horrified, looking Glinda up and down. Zelena looks at Dorothy with concern.

    Glinda: Are you alright?

Dorothy Gale: (Breathless and panting) I think so. I tried to run to the storm cellar, but I wasn't fast enough.

Zelena: What world are you from?

Glinda throws her a sharp look. Dorothy is disorientated.

Dorothy Gale: W...World. You mean this isn't Kansas?

Glinda: I'm afraid not. (She gives her a comforting smile) Welcome to Oz. What is your name?

Dorothy Gale: (Looks around nervously) Dorothy. Dorothy Gale.

Glinda: Few are strong enough to survive such a powerful storm. You must be a very special girl, Dorothy.

Zelena's eyes darken as Glinda takes Dorothy by the hand.

Glinda: Come. We'll take you to our home. Our sisters will be very excited to meet you. Won't they Zelena?

Zelena: (Looking worried) Yes. I'm sure they will.

Later that night at the Heart of Oz

Glinda and the witches of the North and East laugh merrily. There are wine glasses on the table. The Witch of the South passes around a silver tray of biscuits.

Glinda: So lovely to have you with us.

Glinda takes a biscuit, passes the platter to Dorothy, who takes one and passes it to the Witch of the East. She is sitting in Zelina's chair. The Witch of the West is nowhere to be seen.

Witch if the East: Our home is your home.

Once again the plate is passed around.

Witch of the North: You should have come sooner.

They all laugh. The tray makes its complete cycle round the table.

Dorothy Gale: Thank you! You've all been so kind. You've treated me like family.

The Witches are all moved by her words, smiling to each other.

Zelena watches them from outside, hidden behind the bushes. Dorothy takes a bite out of the snack, unaware of the jealous witch. Only Glinda notices her. Zelena quickly ducks away. Glinda pretends not to react, but is hesitant.

Outside the Heart of Oz, beside the old well.

Zelena has her back turned, facing out into the forest. A large tome - the Book of Records - lies beside her. Glinda appears and approaches her, trying to comfort her.

Glinda: Zelena? There you are. We were starting to worry. Are you feeling alright?

    Zelena: Go away!

    Glinda: What's gotten into you?

Zelena turns, looking seriously upset. Her neck is tainted green. Glinda looks disheartened.

Glinda: Have you been spying on Regina again?

Zelena: No. (She steps forward, becoming angry) I've been watching you fawn over you latest protege.

Glinda: Dorothy? Are you jealous of her? Why? You two are so alike?

Zelena: Except she's spunkier, fresher-faced and clearly more innocent than me. Perfect candidate to take the empty seat at the table.

Glinda: No one is taking your seat, Zelena.

Zelena: Really? That's not what this says.

Zelena whips around and throws open the Book of Records, Glinda looks annoyed.

Glinda: What are you doing with the Book of Records?

Zelena: You didn't tell me everything about the prophecy.

Zelena begins to read from the tome.

Zelena: "The sorceress of another land will make Oz her home until she fulfils her destiny and unseats the greatest evil the realm has ever seen."

Glinda looks sheepishly at her feet, shifting uncomfortably as she tries to find the words. She slams the book shut.

Zelena: Don't you see? Dorothy is meant to take my seat, which makes me the greatest evil.

Glinda: Fate is a funny thing. You don't now if that is what the prophecy actually means.

    Ginda moves towards her sister.

Glinda: Remember what I said: Only you can shape your destiny. But if you believe you are evil, then that is what you will become.

    The well, later that evening

Dorothy draws water from the well.

    Zelena: Hello Dorothy

Dorothy turns around and screams in shock, almost dropping the pale. Zelena stares at her intently, dressed all in black with a pointed hat. Her skin is now completely green.

Dorothy Gale: Zelena. (She begins to stammer) I didn't recognise you. Are you okay?

Zelena: I decided to stop hiding my true colours. (She advances on the young girl) According to the prophecy, you're the only one who can defeat me.

    Dorothy backs away in fear.

Dorothy Gale: Defeat you? What are you talking about? I don't want to hurt you.

Zelena: Good. Because I'm going to make sure , you can't.

Zelena produces a fireball and swings back her arm ready to hurl the burning projectile at the young girl. There is a hatred in her eyes. Dorothy flings water at her, dousing the fire. Some of the liquid splashes onto the Witch of the West and she screams in both agony and surprise.

    Zelena: What have you done?!

    Dorothy Gale: Zelena?!

Zelena looks down to see the flesh of her hands bubbling and dripping. The rest of her body follows in the same way. She screams and pants in anguish.

    Zelena: What's happening to me? I'm ... I'm ...

Dorothy Gale: (She is horrified, taking several steps back) Melting. You're melting. I'm sorry. I was only trying to put out the fire.

    Zelena: No!

Dorothy Gale: It was just water!

    Zelena: No!!!

Zelena's body melts away into nothingness , her clothes dropping to the ground. Dorothy is still in utter shock.

Dorothy Gale: It was just water. (She looks around, horrified. Stepping forward towards the well.) Glinda! Glinda!

Glinda appears in a swirl of silver mist, looking concerned by the panic in the young girl's voice.

    Glinda: Dorothy, what is it?

Dorothy Gale:( Breaks down into tears) Z...Zelena. S...She came up to me with a ball of fire and ... then I... I threw water at her ... and then .... Look!
Dorothy points at the pile of clothes, her hand shaking. Glinda follows her gesture, her eyes falling on the discarded clothes.

Glinda: The prophecy has come to past. (She looks up to Dorothy) And you Dorothy, you defeated her.

Dorothy Gale: (Surprised and doubtful) With water?

Glinda: It was your destiny to stop her and destiny gave you the tool.

    Dorothy Gale: I'm sorry.

Glinda: Don't be. She didn't leave you a choice. You're one of us now Dorothy. One of the Sisterhood of Witches.

Dorothy Gale: I'm sure Oz in wonderful. But I want to go home.

Glinda: I understand. Unfortunately, I don't have the power to cross realms. Only the Wizard has done that. Perhaps he can help you.

Dorothy Gale: I thought Zelena turned him into a monkey.

Glinda: (Her eyes fall on the hat and cloak) Now gone, her magic will be undone. He'll be back to his human form.

Dorothy Gale: Will you take me to him?

Glinda: (Gives Dorothy a warm smile) Just follow me.

    Dorothy Gale: Where?

Glinda: (Starting to walk, with Dorothy hesitantly following) Why, down the yellow brick road, of course.

The two walk through the woods, reaching the yellow brick crossroad, leaving the well and the pile of discarded clothes. Once they are both gone, green smoke begins to snake from the fabric. As it disperses,we can see Zelena, smiling triumphantly as she watches the two on the horizon.

The Emerald City - The Wizard's Throne Room

Dorothy and Glinda walk down the yellow tiles and enter the room. Dorothy is in awe, whilst Glinda is trying to compose her face not to look sceptical. The curtain at the back of the room is once again drawn, hiding Walsh's invention and circus poster from view.

Glinda lays a comforting hand on Dorothy's shoulder and guides her up the stairs, stopping at the top and clasping her hands in front of her.

Glinda: Go on. Ask for him.

Dorothy Gale: (Nervously) Hello. Your excellency?

Four jets of fire erupt from the floor, startling the girl in the process. A small smile appears on Glinda's face - relief that the Wizard has successfully be reverted back to his original form. The silhouette of the man is projected onto the curtain.

The Wizard: I have been expecting you.

    Dorothy Gale: You have?

The Wizard: I see all. (He spreads his hands wide above his head and conjures more fire) I am Oz the Great and Terrible.

Dorothy Gale: My name is Dorothy Gale. (She looks over to Glinda for reassurance) Glinda said you might be able to help me get home. To Kansas.

The Wizard: I know who you are. You freed me from the Wicked Witch's magic. Sending you home is the least I can do.

Dorothy Gale: (Excitedly) How do I get back?

    The Wizard: Look down.

He waves his hand and there is a whooshing down. She follows his instruction, looking down to see that she is wearing a pair of silver slippers - the same pair that Zelena had been given by the Wizard. Glinda looks on approvingly.

The Wizard: Click your heels together three times and think of where you want to be. The slippers shall take you there.

Dorothy Gale: Thank you so much.

The Wizard: Safe travels, Dorothy. May you never find yourself far from home again.

Dorothy's face lights up, looking at Glinda with silent joy and gratitude and taking her by the hand as an act of farewell She lets go and clicks her heels together three times, vanishing in a swish of grey smoke.

Glinda is left alone in the throne room. She gives a slight bow before hitching up her skirt to climb the steps.

Glinda: (Her tone is trying not to her disapproval) Thank you for your help. You can show your true self now.

    Glinda walks to the curtains.

    The Wizard: With pleasure.

The curtains drop and fall open, revealing Zelena - now the Wicked Witch of the West - operating the machine that Walsh had developed to take on the persona of the Wizard of Oz. Glinda is taken aback by the revelation, stepping back with a look on her face that would hint at her seeing a ghost.

    Zelena: Hello, sister.

Zelena looks elated to see Glinda. All affection has gone and is replaced by malice and fury.

Glinda: Zelena? I don't understand... Dorothy said ...

Zelena advances on the Witch of the South, who is confused and trying to piece everything out in her head.

Zelena: I was destroyed by water. (She gives a mocking laugh) Foolish child. So gullible.

    Glinda: But why?

Zelena: Because, now she is gone no one can stop me from changing my past.

Glinda: Then I will find someone else to fulfil the prophecy. As long as I am in Oz, I will not stop searching until I find someone to stop you.

Zelena: Then I suppose that means you need to leave Oz. Maybe you'll find the Enchanted Forest more to your liking.

Glinda: (Shaking her head in regret) Zelena, please. It's not too late. You can change...

    Zelena: (Interrupting) Goodbye, Glinda.

With a wave of her hand, green smoke wraps around Glinda and makes her banish into thin air. There is an eerie chime as the clear jewel of the pendent becomes the same green as The Wicked Witch of the West's skin. She clutches as her throat in horror. But then as she realises what she had done, a smile begins to form.

The Witch of the East - Once Upon a Time Season Three (2013)

One of the three magical protectors of Oz, an unnamed magician became known by the people of the land as The Witch of the East. She represented courage, one of the four elements of magic, and together with Glinda the Witch of the South and the Witch of the North could perform feats that few could comprehend.

Due to her being apart of the sisterhood, she was given a special pendent that allowed her to channel and accelerate her magical abilities.

The Witch of the East would travel to the "Heart of Oz" for special council, waiting for the day that the was prophocised in the Oz Book of Records; when a cyclone would bring to the land a sorcerer capable of taking up the title of the Witch of the West and protect the realm.

Upon learning about Glinda's discovery of Zelena, she was summoned to attend a council meeting to greet and access the newest candidate for their conclave.

    "Kansas"

Waiting in their council for Glinda to return from the Emerald City with their potential ally, the Witch of the East remained silent as the protector of the Book of Records introduced them and the order they represented. She approved with Glinda's decision for Zelena to join their ranks at the Witch of the West.

The Witch of the East told Zelena that Glinda was the keeper of the Book of Records, explaining that through this they knew everything about the land of Oz - from the founding of its borders all the way to its final days.

Later she was cheerily laughing with the Witches of the North and South, passing biscuits round a table and welcoming Dorothy Gale to Oz.

The Witch of the North - Once Upon a Time Season Three (2013)

An unnamed practitioner of magic dubbed by the people of Oz as the Witch of the North, she was one of the four protectors of the land of Oz, sitting on a council of witches with Glinda (the Witch of the South) and the Witch of the East in the "heart of Oz." She represented knowledge, one of the key focuses for any mage wishing to learn sorcery.

Although she had amassed many talents and skills over the years, she worked with her sisters to do magic that many people could never comprehend. To mark her allegiance to the order, she wears a special pendent that not only channels, but also strengthens her magic.

She was called to take council with her sisters, with Glinda proposing that the empty seat of their council be a gift to Zelena - the woman who revealed that Oz the Great and Terrible was nothing more than a charlatan and a fraud.

    "Kansas"

The Witch of the North sat in silence, listening to Glinda introductions to their order and happily smiling at the prospect of Zelena joining their ranks as the Witch of the West and the embodiment of innocence.

When the latter questioned how she could chose to be good after all her wicked deeds, the Witch of the North prompted Glinda to tell her about the prophecy foretold in the Book of Records, since the Witch of the South was its keeper.

Later, after Glinda and Zelena return to the council chamber with Dorothy Gale who they rescued from the ruins of her destroyed house, she dined with her fellow sisters. She made a joke to the young girl that she should have come to Oz sooner, taking one of the biscuits being passed around the table. She is moved by Dorothy's feelings of gratitude, unaware that her comments were angering Zelena, who was spying on them from the bushes nearby.

    He was hunt
ed down by one of Zelena's flying monkey servants, forcibly dragged off by the loyalist to meet their creator.

    "Our Decay"

Brought screaming before Zelena in the Wizard's former chamber, he begged to know what the Witch wanted with him, becoming frightened to learn that his brain - seen by her as a "symbol of wisdom" -  was going to be used as part of a spell that would take the daughter of Cora back in time.

However before she can advance upon him, they are interrupted by the arrival of Dorothy Gale, who causes such a distraction with the aide of Toto that the three of them manage to escape.

Fleeing to a little cottage in the heart of a wood, the Scarecrow was camping out by the fire when the two of them fell under a surprise attack by Zelena. He watched in terror as the Witch temporarily forze Dorothy in place with her magic, wondering allowed what she had done. As he backed away begging for mercy, Zelena rammed her hand through his head and extracted his brain, leaving his body to fall to the ground.

Using the vessel to travel to the small island in the middle of route 128, Team Magma arrived at the cave before the young trainer Brendan could, utilising the mystical energy of the Red Orb to awaken Groudon's primal reversion. However that ended in chaos when the Continent Pokémon turned on Maxie and the rest of the humans, attacking them with a high intensity solar blast.

The Seafloor Cavern - Potential Future - Pokémon Generations (2016)

Located in the middle of the oceans of the Hoenn Region, Seafloor Cavern was the home to both the legendary Pokémon Kyogre and Groudon.

In their mission to revive the Continent Pokémon from their slumber, Team Magma stole the Submarine Explorer One from Slateport City and took in back to their base, making numerous improvements to the design. Among those was the addition of a drill, which the Team used to bore deep into the group to gain access the cavern below.

Once the improvements were made, Team Magma set sail to the cave.

    "The Vision"

Having used the Red Orb to successfully awaken the dormant Groudon, the Continent Pokémon erupted through the mountain and triggered bursts of lava to rain down. The legendary being set about destroying all in his path, including several of the nearby islands. They then set about turning on Team Magma, attacking the terrified humans with an intense solar beam.

"The Vision" - Script - Pokemon Generation (2016)

A shrill siren fills the air, flooding the room with a red flashing light.

Pans out to a long corridor that is secured with a large steel door. The wall on either side of the door is flanked with Team Magma's flag. The symbol is also painted onto the metal door. Clear pipes transporting lave line both sides of the passageway.

The door is cut with two long green slashes and explodes violently, producing a huge smoke cloud. Two shapes can be made out running through the vapour. Slightly in the lead is a large bipedal Pokemon, the red, green and yellow standing out against the grey. It has a very reptilian look to it. The other is a child, wearing a white beanie, a red and black shirt and cargo shorts. On his arm sits a mega bracelet and he is wearing a backpack over both shoulders.

Cut to a different angle of the corridor, seen through the eyes of a security camera. Over the top is a snide laughter of Admin Tabitha. The time stamp on the camera reads 2:53:57 and continues going up.

As the boy - Brendan - and his Sceptile sprint down the hallway, they are met by a blue bat with purple wing membranes. It is facing away from the camera, but it is clearly a Golbat. The owner of the Golbat follows, dressed in official Team Magma uniform. Sceptile and Golbat meet in midair and Golbat is quickly thrown to the floor, the Sceptile is so quick it incapacitates the Bat Pokemon, returns to his trainer and then leaps over the fallen body to continue. Brendan vaults himself down the stairs, making a second jump over the unconscious Pokemon - Golbat's mouth is hanging open so his sharp fangs are visible. The owner is nowhere to be seen, crushed beneath the wings and body of the flying/poison type.

Tabitha: An intruder has broke through sector one. I have been informed he has entered sector two.

Cut to another passage, where Maxie is leading a group of at least five grunts. Tabitha is looking down at a tablet with a mocking smile. Maxie looks serious and sullen. All the other grunts have their hoods up, apart from Tabitha. The slightly larger man is dressed in a slightly different uniform to the others - yellow horns on the hood to denote his rank as admin. Maxie is very thin, with long red hair that reached his chin and a pair of black frame glasses. The frames have been set with a key stone. He is wearing a crimson suit and a long lab coat with Team Magma's symbol on the lapel.

He holds himself stiffly, both hands clasped behind his back. He lets out a short noise of recognition which does not give any clear notion of his mood.

They enter the cargo dock where the Submarine Explorer One is waiting for them. It has been modified with Team Magma's colours and a massive drill has been attached to the front. The side has also been emblazoned with Magma's crest.

A lone woman is waiting near the metal steps, dressed in a uniform that is very different to the others. She is wearing her hood over her lilac hair, the horns the same colour as Tabitha's.

    Maxie: Courtney

Courtney stands to attention. She speaks in a childish way, with long pauses in the middle of her sentences.

Courtney: So your off ... to make your dreams a reality

Maxie gives her a curt nod

    Maxie: Yes.

Maxie addresses the eleven people standing behind him. Camera zooms out to catch an aerial shot of the harbour. The submarine appears in full view - now it is clear that the modifications have the vessel appear in the form of a Camerupt. There is a crane against the wall, which has the Magma symbol painted on the yellow bodywork. More sirens are flashing and blaring over. He has to shout over them to be heard by all.

Maxie: Listen up! Team Magma will be leaving for the Seafloor Cave.

Tabitha looks over his shoulder, his face twisting with smug enjoyment.

    Tabitha: Got that grunts.

Tabitha whips around, making a funny pose.

    Tabitha: Get to it!

All ten members salute Maxie, Tabitha and Courtney. They rush past the leader and his lieutenants, rushing up the stairs and boarding the vessel. They watch them all go. Courtney begins to climb after them. She gets a few stairs up

    Maxie: Wait.

Courtney lets out a surprised gasp. Looks back at him, her mouth slightly open.

Maxie: Courtney. You are too remain right here.

Her eyes widen and and makes another puzzling sound.

Cut to Sceptile in a brand new corridor, the sharp leaves on their forearm glowing bright green as the move leaf blade is used. A quadruped wolf-like Pokemon with black and grey fur, red iris and sharp fangs and claws bounds at the Forest Pokemon, snarling and dripping saliva from their jaws. There are more of the tubes pumping lave throughout the base.

The Mightyena is met with Sceptile's leaf blade, sending the Pokemon hurtling back and crashing at the feet of two grunts. A small dust cloud is thrown up by the impact the Pokemon made. The female grunt turns back in shock. The male trainer looks concerned for the fallen Bite Pokemon. Mightyena's ears and face twitch as they tried to stand back up. The alarms blare overhead.

Cut back to Maxie, the same expressionless look on his face.

Maxie: The intruder will be arriving here very soon. I want you to make certain he doesn't get one step beyond this point.

Courtney looks intently at Maxie, taking in his instructions carefully. When he is finished she smiles and nods.

Courtney: I understand ... Leader Maxie sir.

Cut to another door, which suffers a similar fate to the first door as Sceptile cuts through it. Brendan and his started Pokemon run dramatically through the gas.

Unknown Grunt: The intruder has moved beyond sector four.

Cut to Tabitha and Maxie at the hatch door. Tabitha bows and gestures with his hand to the entrance.

Tabitha: Leader Maxie, come on. Lets get this underway.

Maxie takes a step forward and then turns to look back to Courtney. Tabitha's smile falters and he looks annoyed.

    Courtney stares up at them.

Courtney: I look forward to it... Mankind's new future.

Maxie: After this mission is over, we'll meet again.

Maxie turns his back on Courtney and disappears inside. Tabitha follows as the hatch remotely closes after them.

Courtney: Please change the world... Leader Maxie.

Cut to the control room of the Submarine Explorer One. As the engine begins to hum into life, the room shakes. The screens light up with various schematics, maps and readings. Four members of the strike force have taken their seat at the console. The control room has also been decked with more of Team Magma's flags.

Team Magma Grunt #4 twists dials.

Team Magma Grunt #4: Propulsion System all good to go.

The other grunts begin to busy themselves with their individual tasks.

Team Magma Grunt #5: Communication links are open. Transceiver status is currently 5 by 5.

Team Magma Grunt #6: Radar system is a go

Tabitha stands at the observation barrier beside the captain's chair, which is facing the door. A smile is spread across his face. Maxie turns round to look out the window.

Team Magma Grunt #7: Forward drill control system is a go.

Tabitha: Leader Maxie sir. We're all clear to launch.

    Maxie: Start the engines.

Cut to outside the submarine, where panels in the wall slide up, releasing water than begin to flood into the dock and fill up. Courtney spins round to face the alarm, engrossed by the flashing red light.

Courtney: So pretty. The red siren. I can see it. A vision of a world changing.

Camera gets closer and closer to Courney's eye, acting as a scene transition.

Cut to the exterior of Seafloor Cavern - the volcanic mountainous region stretching out of the oceans. Lava bursts from the top as Primal Groudon rears itself to the surface, their body dripping with magma - Groudon has been reverted back to its ancient form; serrated edges on their crimson tail, intense yellow eyes and a throat as the Continent Pokemon musters a solar beam. They let out a deafening roar, calling forth a blazing hot sun through the smoke of the volcano.

Tabitha, Maxie and the strike force rush forward, looking terrified. The sun is so hot that they are beginning to sweat. They stare up at the legendary, eyes wide in terror as Groudon unleashes a solar beam. The attack skims across the water and through several islands. There is a moments pause, then everything erupts in a violent explosion that turns the air red and fiery. Smoke clouds drift into the atmosphere. Primal Groudon turns on Team Magma, releasing a second blast at them. The beam (and the camera) hurtles towards the humans. They scream in terror. Maxie's usually expressionless face looks panicked as the beam hits.

Cut to Courtney, who wakes up with a start. She lets out a shocked noise. The water flow filling the dock begins to slow down and ease off, leaving the young admin in almost complete silence - the siren sounds so distant and faded

Courtney: What was ... that vision?

She turns at the sound of light footsteps approaching and she makes a noise of recognition. Brendan and Sceptile appear and take their place in front of her, staring her down. She giggles at the sight of them

Courtney: I knew you would come. Too bad though. It's all over now. The submarine has been upgraded. Look at that drill. With that, even the seal on the Seafloor Cavern is in for a walloping.

The propeller sputters into life, spinning round violently and churning the water around it, forcing the Submarine forward. Brendan watches the vessel sink beneath the surface of the water. Courtney and Sceptile face each other off.

Courtney: There is still work to do. I'm going to have to stop you.

Cournety removes a Pokeball from behind her back, clutching it tightly in her palm. She gives shrill and childish giggles between each pause.

Courtney: But now I just want to .... engage you and see what happens.

She throws the Pokeball at the ground near her feet. It opens with a burst of blue/white light and a quadruped Pokemon emerges, rearing up on their hind legs and letting out a cry that sounds similar to the neighing of a horse. The Pokemon - Camerupt - has red fur covering their body, with two large volcanoes protruding out of their back. The fur is marked with three dark blue rings. Camerupt returns to all fours and prepares to fight with them.

Courtney: I want to... analyse you

Courtney breaks down into hysterical fits of laughter, covering her mouth and closing her eyes.

Tabitha - Potential Future - Pokémon Generations (2016)

Assisting Maxie with his plan to revive the dormant legendary Pokémon Groudon, Tabitha and the Team Magma strike force travelled to the Seafloor Cavern via the stolen Submarine Explorer One, where they managed to complete the first part of the criminal organisations' goal.

His celebration at their triumph turned to despair and fear as Tabitha realised that Groudon could not be controlled. Alarmed by the violence and destruction that the Continent Pokémon was causing to the surrounding area, he attempted to get closer and bring Primal Groudon back under their control.

However the Ground/fire type turned their rage and fury onto the people who woke him, discharging an intense solar beam at Tabitha and the others. They scream as there is no escape from the blast.

At first he was excited to see that his plan went off without any interference from Team Aqua and the young trainer Brendan, however his joy turned to panic as Primal Groudon turned on their supposed master.

    "The Vision"

Rushing forward in an effort to regain control of the Continent Pokémon, Maxie is unable to prevent several islands being obliterated by Groudon's solar beam. Before he can order his followers to defend themselves, they are set upon by a second solar beam that hurtles towards them.

    "The Vision"

The team is horrified to learn that they have lost control of the Pokémon, watching in terror as the world they adored was being destroyed and burned by the god-like being they unleashed upon humanity.

Primal Groudon turned on the team who tried to use him as a slave, firing at them with a high intensity solar beam. The strike force screamed as every member, including Team Magma's leader Maxie and their Admin Tabitha were caught in the blast.

Primal Groudon - Potential Future - Pokémon Generations (2016)

Whilst staring into a flashing alarm in the Team Magma Hideout, Admin Courtney perceived a vision in which Maxie achieved Team Magma’s goal to rouse the dormant Continent Pokémon Groudon.

However, in her premonition, Maxie had lost control of their ultimate weapon to expand the landmass of the world for the benefit of both people and Pokémon, which now was attacking anyone and anything that got in their way.

    “The Vision”

Having undergone Primal Reversion when Maxie used the Red Orb to awaken the legendary Pokémon Groudon from his slumber within Seafloor Cavern, they rose out of the Earth and proceeded to go on a rampage, destroying several islands with a single solar beam and causing an intense heat wave across the whole of the Hoenn Region. The legendary Pokémon then turned his attention towards Team Magma and set about attacking them with a second solar blast.

The Ground/Fire type was also used during her criminal occupation as a high-ranking admin for the felonious organisation Team Magma.

    “The Vision”

Tasking with slowing down Brendan - as he infiltrated Team Magma’s Hideout - and preventing him from following Maxie to the Seafloor Cavern, Courtney sent out Camerupt to challenge the young trainer’s Sceptile.

    Courtney’s Vision - Potential Future - Pokémon Generations (2016)

A vision experienced by the Team Magma Admin Courtney whilst she was on duty in their hideout on the coast of Lillycove, the apparition showed the death and destruction of many members of the criminal organisation, as well as several islands within the Hoenn Region at the hands of the legendary Pokémon Groudon in their primal state.

    “The Vision”

Having travelled to the Seafloor Cavern in the Submarine Explorer One to awaken the Continent Pokémon from their slumber with the Red Orb, Groudon’s body underwent a primal reversal that unleashed their true and ultimate form. Emerging from a volcano in a splash of molten lava, the legendary Pokémon attacked several islands with a solar beam so intense that they exploded violently.

As Maxie, Tabitha and the other members of Team Magma rushed to gain control of their secret weapon, Primal Groudon fired a second blast, making the humans scream in terror as the grass-type move hurtled directly at them.

    Courtney – Pokémon Generations (2016)

A high-ranking admin working for Team Magma, Courtney idolised and looked up to her boss Maxie and shared his vision for a world with an increased land mass for the development of civilisation and Pokémon.

She was a skilled Pokémon trainer and owned a Camerupt, using it in her crimes against the Hoenn Region in the name of the organisation she represented.

    “The Vision”

Waiting for Maxie and the rest of the exploration party to arrive at the dock area of the Team Magma Hideout, Courtney greeted her employer, dreamily asking if he was ready to create the world he had always dreamed of. She was tasked with ensuring that Brendan, who was at that point infiltrating the base with his Sceptile, did not pursue them to Seafloor Cavern.

Courtney calls after him, telling him that she looks forward to his concept of a whole new world becoming a reality. She is saddened to see her idol leave, however is reassured that she will see him again in the new world and prays for his success.

She is distracted by the flashing red alarm, marvelling its beauty and remarking that through that she could see a vision of their glorious enterprise. But what she witnessed was far from peace and happiness, but destruction, pain and death of Maxie, Tabitha and Team Magma at the hands of Primal Groudon. Horrified and confused by the scene she just saw, she begins to question the visions’ meaning, but is interrupted by the arrival of Brendan.

Shaking off her inner turmoil, she giggled that she knew he would come to face her. Gloating that Brendan was too late to stop Maxie’s escape in the modified Submarine Explorer One, she boasted that the drill they had attached to the stolen vessel would ensure that they would gain access to Seafloor Cavern and access to Groudon’s chamber. Declaring that she must finish the work she had been tasked with, Courtney summoned her Camerupt, musing that she merely wanted to “engage [you] in battle” and let the outcome be decided by itself. Watching her Pokémon rear up and prepare for battle, she went on with how she wanted to study and learn more about him, tittering that she was going to “analysis” Brendan.

    Maxie - Pokémon Generations (2016)

The leader and founder of the Hoenn Criminal Organisation Team Magma, Maxie believed in creating a better world for humanity, wishing to expand the land mass for industrial development. He was fascinated by the legends of the region and studied into the tales of the ancient continent Pokémon Groudon.

He was a very well respected leader, earning him the trust and fellowship of a large number of people who would go on to serve as operatives for Team Magma. He entrusted Courtney and Tabitha with the titles of admin and the rank of joint deputies within the organisation.

At some point in his life, Maxie procured the Mega Stone Camerputite and a keystone, which he embedded into his glasses.

He was personally responsible for stealing the Submarine Explorer One from Slateport City, retreating to their personal hideout to the east of Lilycove City. Tasking his grunts with making the necessary adaptions to the vessel, he hand picked a small strike force that would accompany him to the Seafloor Cavern and help him wake Groudon from their state of dormancy.

    "The Vision"

Leading the strike force towards the inside dock, Maxie remained calm as Tabitha announced that their was an intruder breaking into the hideout at that very moment and was defeating the grunts stationed to secure the area, giving a soft grunt of recognition that he heard his admin's report.

Greeting Admin Courtey at the Submarine, he declared that they were about to set off to the "Seafloor Cave," watching the team rush off to prepare the vessel for launch. He called Courtney back, tasking her with slowing down Brendan and ensuring that the young trainer did not interfere with their plans.

Ascending the stairs to the Submarine, he looked back to his young loyalist, promising her that they will meet again once their new world had been established. Entering the craft, he took his place in the captain's chair, commanding the team to start the engines once given the green light from Tabitha that the ship was ready to be launched.
